How To Install Cabinets

Come join the Kbuild crew on this incredible tutorial and walkthrough of how to install cabinets with warehouse manager Duron, and carpenter Chuck. This video will walk through every step on how to install your very own cabinets from unboxing all the way to shelving and attaching the doors.

Delivery & Unboxing

When your cabinets arrive, be sure to bring them into your home with care and precision to make sure you don’t damage the cabinets. After you pull them inside. When opening a box to your cabinets be sure to check for any damages that may be on the cabinets. If you do happen to find damages make sure to contact the manufacturer and let them know. Next, Carefully pull the cabinet out of its box, and gently set it down.

Removing Doors

Before setting up your cabinets in your selected spot, be sure to remove the door fronts from each frame face, these will be put back on later. Use a screwdriver to remove the screws from the door, make sure to hold the door so it doesn’t fall after removal of the screws. To keep your screws in one place, screw them back in their holes after removing them to make sure you don’t lose them.

Using Fillers

Before placing your cabinet in your selected spot of choice, be sure to measure the length of the cabinet and width of the cabinet and the opening you have it set for. If your cabinet ends up being too short in length, is when you need your filler. Fillers usually come in 6 and 3 inches. If you need something shorter or in between, your next step would be to cut the filler to width. When attaching the filler to the cabinet, use screws that are from 2-3 inches to drive from the cabinet into the filler. You’ll only need about 2 screws to drive into your filler.

Adhering Cabinet to Wall

When adhering the cabinet to a wall, you’ll need to have a magnetic stud finder to find where you can drill your cabinet in. After finding where your studs are, you’re next step will be to use a screwdriver to drive your screws into the studs. One step you should always remember is to level your cabinets. Use a level to find out how level your cabinets are, and make sure they’re even.

Reattaching The Doors

Before you start reattaching the doors, make sure there aren’t any shipping tags or clips attached to the cabinets. If you had left the screws in the holes after removing the doors, make sure to pull them out before placing the doors in their spots. After taking out the screws, place the doors in their spots and reattach the screws.

Adjusting The Doors

After attaching the doors check to see the space between your cabinet doors. If you happen to find an uneven space between the doors, look between the hinges of the cabinets and find a second spot for a screwdriver and that is where you can adjust the positioning of your doors to make an even space between both doors.
