Building A Legacy: 25 Years Of Kbuild

Before Kbuild came to where it is today, it had always been a dream, a goal that seemed too big for most people. However, for Kbuild’s fearless leader, Josh Koehnemann, it was no less than achievable. It all started back in October 21, 1977, When Joshua Koehnemann took his first breath of life. Not long after that, his mother said a heartfelt prayer over him, that he would grow up to be productive and successful in everything he had set his hands and mind to.

Aspirations

Before entering the construction industry, he had aspirations of becoming a flight attendant, to travel the world. He had even tried his hands in glassblowing for a short period of time. After high school the father of one of his high school friends was a superintendent for the Jones company, and got him on a framing crew as a union carpenter, beginning his career in construction.

While he was working as a framer he suffered a severe injury to his leg, as he was recovering, a good friend’s father started his own business doing installs of high-end cabinetry. Josh had agreed to work for the company. While successful, it didn’t last very long. Led Josh into the next step in his construction journey, working on an insurance restoration company. He became a crew leader, and shortly afterwards the corporation decided to disband the in-house construction division. After working in almost every aspect of the construction industry he decided to start his own company.

As his new business steadily grew, he met a sales rep at Beseda Flooring Company who would eventually become his future wife. Josh and Rauchel had started dating, and eventually Rauchel joined the Kbuild team. Rauchel and Josh’s families had both felt very confident in the power they both had and were sure they would skyrocket into success with each other. The results are self-evident.

The Team

Josh always had a gift for identifying potential and talent in people, and providing clear, concise direction. He has built a dynamic team of innovative leaders who work together creating something remarkable. Part of Kbuild’s mission is to see the potential in every team member. Recognizing that everyone is a contributing factor to our success.

The incredible environment that has been created at Kbuild, shapes a team committed to progress and continuous improvement. Resulting in a positive impact on the lives of our members. Before working at Kbuild many of our team members felt as if they were a number, or wanted to be part of something bigger. Kbuild has given them everything they asked for.

Growth

One of the biggest investments Josh and Rauchel had made was purchasing the building that would become their first showroom. The building was purchased from Frank Conrad, a lawyer who owned the 10,000 sq ft. building in St Peters. However, the space was outdated and in desperate need of improvement. Without hesitation, the Kbuild team got to work. Transforming the aging structure into a cutting-edge showroom.

Josh and Rauchel had continued their ambitious mission to revolutionize the construction industry, having always been closely involved with St. Charles Kitchens & Baths, the Kbuild team worked tirelessly to keep the partnership strong. As the original owners prepared to retire, a new chapter in the company’s journey began, carrying on their legacy forward. With both businesses now established the number of employees began to grow. With strong leadership and a shared commitment to excellence, the team continued to flourish and reach new heights of growth and achievement.

With growth come new challenges. Josh and Rauchel realized that Kbuild was now on the brink of rapid expansion. With the acquisition of their third commercial building, the stage was now set for the next level of growth. The warehouse provided the needed room to bring Kbuild Fabrication to life.

Throughout all of the history and hard work that’s been put into Kbuild’s success, The team continues to thrive and reach higher every day to help skyrocket Kbuild and keep the standard of excellence. Truly making Josh’s dream the reality he’s always wanted it to be. Stay tuned as we here at KBUILD can’t wait to show you what comes next.
